Edge Ensemble: Future Echoes

Edge Ensemble: Future Echoes

Western Edge Youth Arts introduce the current members of the Edge Ensemble, expressing their identity and premiering a series of short video stories that provide a snapshot into the lives of these young artists and the relationship they each have to their communities in Melbourne’s West.

Working with acclaimed Sudanese filmmaker Ez Eldin Deng, WEYA’s Edge Ensemble present an original short film, alongside song, dance, rap and spoken word in a celebration and tribute to the western suburbs and the communities that call it home.

This presentation gives Future Echoes audiences a sneak peek into the ideas that will be developed into a new original production in 2020; an interdisciplinary, multi-lingual, cross-cultural collaboration that sees young artists from the West step into their power, proudly tell their stories and share their vision of the future for their communities to audiences across the nation.

This event is part of Future Echoes, a festival highlighting young voices, new narratives and works in progress at Arts Centre Melbourne. We invite you to join us for four days to experience, contemplate, participate, celebrate and connect with the next generation of creative thinkers and performance makers.
