General Manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated General Manager to help lead WEYA in the next stage of its development as a leading youth arts company in the west of Melbourne.

Prospective candidates should be experienced in all areas of arts management, have excellent communication skills, and a strong track record in finance and budgets including writing and acquitting grants.  Experience in the youth/community arts sector is desirable but not required.

Each year, WEYA employs young emerging artists from Melbourne’s western suburbs to help deliver our programs in schools and communities across the west. Support Artists work closely with our Lead Artists to devise and deliver workshops, and help guide our young collaborators through the process of devising a totally new and unique performance that will be staged for their community. Support Artists are paid, and also receive ongoing training and mentorship from Lead Artists and WEYA staff. This role would suit an emerging artist keen to strengthen their leadership, communication, and theatre-making skills.
